Research Center for Photosynthesis and Plant Adversity Biology

BRIEF INTRODUCTION:

The predecessor of the Photosynthesis and Plant Adversity Biology Research Center was the Photosynthesis Laboratory founded by the famous plant physiologist Mr. Li Mingqi in 1984. The center belongs to the Key Laboratory of Subtropical Agricultural Biological Resources Protection and Utilization. The team has long been engaged in research on the relationship between photorespiration and high photosynthetic efficiency of plants and their mechanisms, physiological and biochemical and molecular mechanisms of plant stress resistance, and aims to improve the light energy utilization efficiency and stress resistance of crops. In recent years, important achievements have been made in the transformation of the rice photorespiration branch, and the papers have been published in internationally renowned academic journals such as Molecular Plant, Plant Physiology, etc. The team currently has 3 researchers/professors, 2 associate researchers/associate professors, and team leader Peng Xinxiang.
